Abstract

Summary

Syntactic means can be mentioned as one of the tools involved in the organization of advertising texts in modern English. According to G.Leech's research, among the syntactic means in advertising texts, after the declarative sentence, the second most frequently used sentences in advertisements are imperative sentences. The third and fourth frequently uses sentences are interrogatives and exclamatory ones. Besides, parcellations are also widely-used elements in English advertising texts. Another group of syntactic means that make up English advertising texts, includes parallel constructions, adjectival, adverbial and verbal constructions and combinations. Deliberate omission of words/sentences and use of punctuation marks are among the means of syntactical organization of advertising texts in English.
