CONTEMPORARY SEISMOGEODYNAMIC SITUATION OF AZERBAIJAN

Abstract

The article considers strong earthquakes that occurred on the territory of Azerbaijan for the period of 2003-2017. The connection between the observed seismicity and the tectonic structure of the region is revealed. The analysis of the mechanisms of strong earthquakes’ sources is given to study the stress-strain state of the Earth's crust and to reveal the nature of shifts in active parts of deep faults
