RUSSIAN PROVERBS AND SAYINGS FORMULATED ON THE BASIS OF TURKIC WORD

Abstract

This article reviews Turkic elements found in Russian proverbs and sayings systematically. For this reason, Turkic proverbs and sayings which have been selected from the volume of Russian proverbs and Explanatory Dictionary of the Living Great Russian Language by Vladimir Dal have been classified according to their special features ( For example, studies performed on the identification of the lexical-stylistic devices like defining the usage frequency of Turkic words along with their lexical-semantic features) It turns out that, Turkic language elements are often found in Russian proverbs: therefore, this article includes some samples with other language factors ( the names of Turkic places, cities, and names of people and historcial figures) as well as common words. The research showed that Turkic language elements bear historical importance in Russian language and possess a wide range of use. This fact affirms that Turkic words have been necessary for communication in Russian.Hence, the study of Turkic elements in Russian proverbs and sayings in regard with their structural and semantic features plays a special role in defining the Turkic words usage in differrent areas.
