Abstract

Ceremonial folklore and ceremonial folklorisms have always been included in Azerbaijani written literature. This can be especially followed in the activity of the People’s writer Aziza Jafarzade. In the works of the writer the folklorisms of  weddings, mourning, celebrations, separate household ceremonies, fortune-telling, enchantment, faith are expressed in the form of monumental plaques,  sometimes it shows some psychological situation in the form of folklore, sometimes it manifests itself as a means of well-aimed artistic expression in the embodiment of the writer’s idea. We can group these differences as followings:

Firstly, the ethnocultural basis of A.Jafarzade’s works consists of the ceremonial folklorisms. Every literary text subject is a national event, regardless of the level of humanity. Nationality in a work of fiction attracts our attention as an artistic embodiment of the factors that condition it. A.Jafarzade has always been engraved in memory as a writer connected to national grounds. Her heroes, images, therefore, have always been decorated with national ornaments, turning these images and characters into a living artistic phenomenon.

Secondly, the inclusion of ceremonies in A.Jafarzade’s works strengthened ethnography and made those literary texts readable and interesting.

Thirdly, the ceremony was performed by folklorisms, especially divinations, beliefs, enchantments, etc. adds ethnographic color to A.Jafarzade’s works both at the level of description and narration, raises the philosophical and psychological strength and meaning of the works. As a means of knowing the future - fortune-telling, as a means of influencing the future - spells and as a means of belief in the future, tomorrow and life in general, beliefs are accepted. The writer brings all of them masterfully into the literary text and achieves a convincing and coherent description of the artistic idea. Magical folklorisms in an artistic text coincide with the same folklorisms in the reader’s memory, connecting the reader deeper into the text by describing his/her inner world.
