THE CARPET MOTIF IN AZERBAIJANI FAIRY TALES

Abstract

The article examines issues related to carpets and the art of carpet weaving found in Azerbaijani fairy tales. Author also standing on a flying carpet, which is mentioned as a magical object in our magical tales. Motifs related to the art of carpet weaving found in household tales were also studied.

In the article, for the first time, the issues related to the image of the flying carpet and related to carpet weaving were examined together, and both motifs related to kingship and rulership were interpreted on the level of mythical-magical and real-life views.
