Abstract

The article "Mathematical Sketches in Folklore Texts" consists of seven
sections. These seven sections form the structure of the article with seven sketch
titles. The first sketch is based on mathematical-geometrical formulas of "The Story
of Basat's Killing of Tepegoz" of the "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud" epic. In this sketch, the
age of the old world was calculated with the fractions 2/1, 3/, 4/1 as symbols of the
end of the Oguz civilization. Based on this sketch, it was suggested that the lifespan
of our modern world will be 30,880 years. In the second sketch, the increase in the
number of Oguz's sons grandsons, grandchildren, great-grandsons and descendants
in the epic "Oguz Kagan" proves the connection with the numbers 7770 and 7777
of the "Koroglu" heroes. The third sketch is devoted to the extraction and solution
of mathematical formulas and equations in fairy tales. The fourth sketch focuses on
solving equations in anecdotes. I have found traces of fuzzy logic in these equations
in anecdotes. This fuzzy logic is reflected in the primitive mathematical outlook of
Molla Nasreddin, the master of laughter. Molla Nasreddin's fuzzy logical world
view is shown as evidence of Lutfi Zade's (Lutfali Rahim oglu Alasgarzade) fuzzy
logic theory reflected in folklore texts. The fifth sketch is dedicated to the
connection between the number of heroes of the "Koroglu" saga and the number
and row growth of children of Oguz Kagan. The sixth sketch gives an interpretation
of the teaching of the 13th century Italian mathematician Leonardo Fibonacci about
the generation of ordinal numbers. In accordance with this interpretation, the model
of the formation of a leaping number is explained in the narrations "The Owl with
the Prophet Suleiman" and "The House from the Bone of a Bird". In these
narrations, the beginnings of "zero" and "one" play a role in the creation of numbers.
In the seventh sketch, Fibonacci's theory of the golden ratio is confirmed in the
epics "Bilgamys", "Oguz Kagan", "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud", "Koroglu" and the myth
"Ashabi-Kahf". The golden ratio indicates that the figures and numbers in these
texts are fairly equal to each other.
