Abstract

In addition to the new trainings that emerged at the start of the 20th century, which is characterized as a period of diversity and abundance in philosophical, artistic and literary movements, the process of adaptation and reinterpretation of the previous ones and their transformation to the present are in progress. Sufism caused the creation of Neo-Sufism by going through such an interpretation and transformation.
Neo-Sufism is based on the theory that Sufism evolving into literature and philosophy with specific transformations in the current period is no longer traditional Sufism and its classical expression in literature, but rather a neo-manifestation that can be referred to as Neo-Sufism. In addition to being a phenomenon of philosophy, Neo-Sufism is also a phenomenon of poetics in a large scale. It is a phenomenon of poetics rather than a literary movement that can be seen in various literary movements and a philosophical approach expressed in a artistic way.

Since Sufism was characteristic in the East, it was quite natural that Neo-Sufism emerged in the East, in Ottoman and Azerbaijani literature. Neo-Sufism formed in the 19th century, was confirmed in Azerbaijani romanticism in the 20th century, particularly in Huseyn Javid’s creative work. It perfectly formed as an artistic and philosophical conception in Huseyn Javid’s creative work.
