Semantics of antroponyms and toponyms remembered in academic articles (on the basis of a paper by Rasim Nabioghlu)

Abstract

The paper discusses explaining the lexical-semantic meanings in appellatives that form name, father name and surname of prominent poets and writers, founder of Muslim religion, Prophet Muhammad, other religious-historical figures and mythical characters remembered with respect by our nation in the paper titled “Islamic theme, plotline and images in oriental literature” by Rasim Nabioghlu (Rasim Nabi oghlu Gurbanov), well-known literary critic-scientist. The historical-linguistic evolution and formation process of these names has been also reviewed. Any antroponym formed on the basis of loan words or archaic words, its origin is analysed and its meaning is explained.
By using monolingual explanationary, bilingual translation, and encyclopedic dictionaries, the author comprehensively explains the topic. For the first time in a literary-scientific contect, antroponyms and toponyms, as well as geographical names, are given with such in-depth explanations.
