Abstract

The Nahkchivan literary environment, which has produced numerous large-scale works of prose, is an integral part of the literary environment of Azerbaijan. The study of these works of literature requires a responsible approach. One of the tasks of Azerbaijani literary criticism is the study of works of fiction in the Nahkchivan literary environment.
The genre of the novel in Nahkchivan began to be created at the beginning of the twentieth century. This was the undeniable role of the writers-publicists Einali bey Sultanov, Mohammad Tagi Sidgi, Aligamkusar, Gurbanali Sharifzade, as well as leading figures of Azerbaijani prose like Jalil Mammadguluzadeh, the founder of the historical novel by Mamed Said Ordubadi. The novels of Nagi Nagiyev, Abulfaz Abbasguliyev, Jamshid Amirov, Huseyn Ibrahimov, Rasim Ganzali and other authors took their place not only in Nahkchivan novels, but also in Azerbaijani novels in general.
Along with elements of the ideology of the socialist era, these novels reflect the history of the development of the working class and the peasantry, the struggle for collectivization, the building of socialism, rural life, the formation of collective farms in Azerbaijan. It should also be noted that the novels that ignore socialist ideas are turned into the historical past of the Azerbaijani people and reflect the life of individual historical figures. The established traditions of novelism were continued in their work by Huseyn Ibrahimov, Hamid Arzulu, Gullu Mammadova and others. The Nahkchivan literary environment demonstrates that the genre of the novel in this literary environment is subject to dynamic development at the present time.
