Mythological time and epic time in contemporary prose (on the basis of novel “Migration”)

Abstract

In the article, mythic time and epic time are analyzed in parallel in modern artistic prose. Since the epic time is an artistic, metaphorical time that is not real, all the features of the mythological period remain intact here. There is sometimes a certain closeness between mythological time and real time, but even though epic time is similar to mythological time, it also has many different features. Just as the independent hero exists in the epic time, the events are also related to reality. The hero of epic time separates himself from all mythological beings; differs in the unusualness of historical events and images. In the article, these features are studied on several novels.
