Abstract

Novels play an important role in the multifaceted work of Abdullah Gadiri, a prominent figure in Jadid literature of the 20th century. The writer enriched the Turkestan literature of he 20th century with his prose works and novels, and had exceptional services in the development of the people and the education of the nation. The novels written in the 1920s – “Days gone by” and “Scorpion in the Pulpit” – depict the bitter scenes of the period as a whole. The writer reflects the period of khanates in the 19th century, the period he lived, shortcomings of the people, as well as the state. The novels written by Abdullah Gadiri not only reflected the period of khanates, social, political, economic, material and spiritual problems of this period, but also proved the writer’s artistic qualities and the power of his talent. The novels “Days gone by” and “Scorpion in the Pulpit” written on a historical theme, combining the main features of this genre, led to the unity of art and history in the work. The writer took into account the standards that meet the requirements of the genre, and described the life struggle of the characters in the course of historical events. The article deals with the theoretical issues of both novels written by Abdullah Gadiri – writer’s imagination, skill, style, genre features, artistic language and style features, content, unity of form, world of images, character, type etc. highlighted and analyzed. The article provides a comprehensive theoretical analysis of both novels and clarifies the problematic issues related to the novel. Abdullah Gadiri is one of the artists who is distinguished by his artistic features, national color and strong pen, and has a strong influence on the modern literature of the 20th century with his novels.
