Abstract

The article examines the difference of Azerbaijani romanticism from world romanticism and its national characteristics. Among these features, the ideas of Turkism and Turanism occupied an important place. Thus, at this stage, when the Azerbaijani national movement was strengthened and progressed along with critical realism and enlightened realism, there were certain changes in the themes and problems of romanticism, as well as in the aesthetic concept. The past of the people was described in the work of the romantics, and the national issue was highlighted. In the poems of A.Huseynzade, H.Javid, A.Sahhat, A.Shaig, A.Muznib, A.Jannati, A.Muniri and other poets, motifs of Turkism, Turanism and Islamism prevailed. This was one of the reasons why the works of these poets were not investigated in the Soviet era. Thus, we see the emergence and formation of a new quality in the work of Azerbaijani romantics, unlike world romanticism. This quality raised the national spirit of the people and called them to unite around a national idea. This factor is somewhat stronger and diversified during the Republic period. But this cannot last long. With the fall of the Azerbaijan Republic, these qualities have no place in poetic understanding. Soon, these qualities in poetry are replaced by false ideas such as friendship of peoples and internationalism.
