Abstract

In the development of Azerbaijani poetry of the 15th century, Nematullah Kishvari occupies one of the leading places among the creators. From the point of view of the creative features of content, language and style, the poet’s poetic heritage is a true example of perfection. The poetic style, characteristic of classical oriental, including Azerbaijani, divan poetry, occupies a significant place in Kishvari’s creative work. The poet perfectly applied the artistic figures belonging to the classical Eastern poetics to the native language divan, and created examples of poetry distinguished by their unique style.
The main motives of Kishvari’s poetry are the praise of love and beauty, the experiences of the lyrical hero. In the rich thematic diversity of the poet’s poetry, the ashug’s love feelings for his beloved, sadness and heartfelt melancholy, admiration for her beauty are described in a unique emotional language. In Kishvari’s poems, form and content harmoniously complement each other in beauty. These pearls of words, created using the popular spoken language, are interesting examples in terms of the artistic value of their content.
