Abstract

The article talks about Uzeyir Bey Hajibeyli's impressions of some sessions of the parliament and his concern for the freedom and independence of his people. The main goal of the article is to show U.Hajibeyli's impressions of the newly established Parliament of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1918. The opening of the Parliament of Azerbaijan in 1918 was a great historical event. Parliament was the people's hope for national freedom, internal stability and protection from foreign interference. In the article, U.Hajibeyli's views on the education of the nation, the preservation of the national language and the reforms carried out on this path were also touched upon. He considered the parliament to be the main pillar on the way to independence. In his writings about the first national parliament, we see the main motto of U.Hajibeyli - national unity, the hope that the parliament will be able to preserve the immunity of the new government. In the article, the impressions of the independence fighter, who called our people to be decisive in the steps taken towards independence are brought to the fore. U.Hajibeyli's impressions of having a parliament built on free democratic principles and its establishment on national foundation are expressed here.
