REFLECTION OF NATIONAL SPIRIT IN CREATIVE ACTIVITY OF ILYAS EFENDIYEV

Abstract

In the context of socio-political processes taking place in the country, literature of the late 1950s early – 1960s enters a new stage. This stage was distinguished not only by  renewal amd new approach to the events and  facts but also by the behavior of the heroes and their attitude to life. As it was  stated in the  books of history “socialism  won a complete and decisive victory” in society. In such case, the literature also has to change its subject and problematics. It was not popular as  before, the trend of choosing literary characters according to their class affiliation. More than fifteen years have passed since the Second World War and the events taking place in the world made it necessary the integration of literature and culture to people. New images began to appear in works of fiction, the images of ideological enemies was not so popular  as in  1920-1930s, more spiritual and moral issues prevailed. In this regard, creative activity of the outstanding People's writer Ilyas Efendiyev is of great importance. It is studied in the article the problem of reflection the national spirit in literature on the basis of Efendiyev's works  “Bridgemaker”, “Don't look back, old man” and etc.
