Abstract

Among the poets who lived in his time, Sarraf Gasim, who widely used classical poetry genres, wrote more than 20 ashug epics, more than 150 jighali works, and more than 1000 pages of lamentations and religious works. Unlike his contemporaries of Nakhchivan ashugs, he was more attached to the profession of ashug and the art of saz and wrote many poems about this art. The poetic heritage of Sarraf Gasim is investigated in the article. He wrote poems in most forms of love poetry. According to our research, among Nakhchivan ashugs and poets, there was no other person who had deyishme (a kind of poem composed by ashugs) and poems with other poets and ashugs and created epics like Sarraf Gasim.
