“The Book of Dada Gorgud”: From Heydar Aliyev to Ilham Aliyev

Abstract

The article discusses the initiatives taken in Azerbaijan under the Azerbaijani people’s National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s power to promote the monument “The Book of Dada Gorgud”, which overcame obstacles to become what it is now in the world. The magnificent literary phenomenon “The Book of Dada Gorgud”, which is a result of prevalent Turkish thought in the VII century, is presented as a monumental example of art that played an exceptional role in the advancement of the Azerbaijani nation’s literary-aesthetic thought and in the enrichment of its national-moral thought.

Just during the Heydar Aliyev-Ilham Aliyev era, the epic “The Book of Dada Gorgud” became a great national-moral treasure of our country and was internationalized.
