Abstract

Among Turkish philosophers and scholars, İbrahim Hakki from Erzurum holds a unique place as a thinker, public figure, spiritualist, and poet who not only understood and propagated the Sufi way of thinking formed within the Islamic religion, but also wrote very beautiful poems. Among his 15 works, the most famous and largest is "Marifatname", written in 1756. The work was written in Turkish and contains information on many sciences, religious beliefs and worship, medicine, mathematics, geometry, geography, anatomy, astronomy, Sufism, philosophy, sociology, psychology, morality, culinary arts, etc. The work "Marifatname" by Ibrahim Hakki from Erzurum has been published many times in cultural centers such as Turkey, Egypt, and Kazan, and has been translated into Arabic, French, Persian, and many other languages, but unfortunately, it has not been published in the Azerbaijani language. Many scholars call this work an encyclopedia that includes religious, Sufi, social and human sciences. This beautifully written work consists of five parts: an introduction, three main sections and a conclusion. Although a number of articles have been published about the work "Marifatnameh", there are almost none about its language and pronunciation issues, or its style. The work “Marifatname” is a book composed in harmony with poetry and prose, and has a unique language and style. Many religious and geographical names, terms, various repetitions, homonymous words, pleonasm, etc. are widely used here. Ibrahim Hakki gave extensive space to language, literature, and pronunciation issues in his work “Marifatname”. Talking about the religion of Sufism, the philosopher-scientist emphasizes that the followers of Sufism should pronounce the word correctly when they mention the name “Allah”, explains the meanings expressed by the sounds, and notes that man is the language of the world. In the work, the author’s Turkish poems are given, as well as his poetry works in Persian and Arabic are widely used. It also contains admonishing thoughts such as good speech, remaining silent when appropriate, speaking well, and not gossiping about anyone. "Marifatnameh" has been an important educational and moral work for our modern era, as it has been in every era, and it plays an important role in the education of the younger generation and the teaching of various sciences.
