In the 20th century, the ideology of Turkism became one of the important ideological pillars of national awakening and independence thinking in the Turkic world. From this point of view, the works of Huseyin Nihal Atsız in Turkish literature, Bakhtiyar Vahabzade, Khalil Rza Uluturk, Sabir Rustamkhanli, Zelimkhan Yagub, and Fikrat Sadig in Azerbaijani literature are of great importance, the ideas of Turkish national consciousness, Turkish unity, freedom, national independence were widely promoted in the work of these authors.

During the research, it was assessed that the presentation of Turkism in these poems not only as a political ideology, but also as a concept of language, history, spirituality, and cultural memory, served to protect the people's national identity, strengthen their attachment to their historical roots, and form national consciousness in future generations. At the same time, the attitude towards the mother tongue in the poems of these authors, the role of language in preserving the existence of the nation, the main indicator of national self-awareness and the bearer of national memory are reflected in this article.

While Khalil Rza Ulutürk considers the independence of Azerbaijan an integral part of the Turkic world, Sabir Rustamkhanli presents Turkism in the context of political consciousness and statehood. Zelimkhan Yagub's Turkism is mainly nourished by folklore memory, the ozan-ashıg tradition becomes a symbol of national unity, in the work of Fikret Sadig, the love of language, attachment to the land and respect for national history can be considered humanistic and cultural Turkism.
