Muhammad Fuzuli’s activity is of great importance for the extensive studies. His works can be
examined from a variety of perspectives, as they encompass a wide range of knowledge spanning numerous
fields. When studied through the concept of the “folklore book”, it becomes evident that Fuzuli’s heritage
plays a significant role in the formation of this concept. In this study the notion of the folklore book is first
clarified and then the poet’s works are examined on both theoretical and practical levels. First, it was
concluded that, in exploring the concept of the folklore book, it is essential to address, in general terms, the
poet’s works that contribute to this process. This is because it is practically impossible to encompass all the
folkloric elements found in these works within a single article. Moreover, the objective is not to analyze the
literary-critical direction of these works or the folkloric poetics they contain. Rather, the main intention is to
highlight the role these works play in the formation of the folklore book. The folkloric elements are
characterized within the very texts discussed. Therefore, the focus has primarily been on Fuzuli’s works,
emphasizing that even in the opening lines of his activity such as ghazals, quatrains, poems, folkloric expressions are present indicating just how valuable Fuzuli is as an artist for our folklore. Among Fuzuli’s
works, those that directly contribute to the formation of the folklore book include “Leyli and Majnun”,
“Bangu-bade”, “Sohbatul-asmar”, “Hadiqatus-suada”, “Shikayatname” and “Rindu Zahid”, in addition,
various genres of written literature such as ghazal, poem, quatrains have been analyzed with a focus on their
thematic relevance. The folkloric dimensions of these works have been highlighted and presented to the
academic community. This research is notably original and innovative, offering a rich array of new
propositions. It is hoped that this study will serve as a useful source for future research endeavors and play a
significant role in the scholarly and theoretical exploration of the concept of the folklore book.
