Abstract

This article analyzes the socio-psychological factors that play a significant role in the perception of words in the English language. The acquisition and use of language are not limited to learning linguistic rules alone but are also closely connected to an individual's social environment, emotional state, personality traits, and psychological perception. The article emphasizes that the process of interpreting words is conditioned by the cultural environment in which a person lives, the system of social relationships, and individual psychological experience.
The research shows that factors such as social identity, stereotypes, emotional reactions, and motivation may lead to different perceptions of words in English. For instance, the same word may be received with various emotional nuances by individuals belonging to different social groups. Additionally, the learner's previous psychological and cultural experiences also play a crucial role in word comprehension. In conclusion, understanding the meaning of words is possible not only through lexical and grammatical knowledge but also through the integration of social and psychological factors. This highlights the importance of a socio-psychological approach in the process of language learning and teaching.
