However, despite this, criticism was able to take its place as a literary genre in Turkish literature of this period. In literary circles, criticism was discussed as a “new literary trend” – a movement. In modern literature, criticism was also considered and discussed in a multidimensional key, including aspects such as time, space, evolution, imitation, aesthetics and literary work. Rekayzade M. Akram and Muallim Naci, Ahmet Mithad Efendi are famous critics of this period. Servati Funun is a period of Westernization of Turkish literature, when various literary genres were tried and included in Turkish literature. The understanding of Western literature that began in the Tanzimat period led to the emergence of technically successful works in the Servata Funun era. Literary criticism also developed further during this period.
