The “Nasimi” movie and the places of shooting in Nakhichevan

Abstract

The movie “Nasimi” is considered one of the most significant achievements of the Azerbaijani film industry. This article studies the production process of the historical-biographical film, with particular emphasis on the historical and cultural significance of the shooting locations – the village of Khanagah and the Alinja Fortress. The study examines noteworthy events that occurred during the filming in the Nakhchivan region, the work of the productive team, and the memories shared by those who participated in the production. This approach allows for an evaluation of the movie not only from a cinematic perspective but also
within a broader cultural and historical context.
