Abstract

Aziza Jafarzade wrote the novel “Baku-1501” in 1981. It means that it was written 10 years before
the collapse of the existing Soviet structure. However, in this work the issue of unity of Turkic states and the
concept of independent statehood at a very broad level are put. The writer described the war between the two
sectarian Turkic states from the different perspective. He showed that the third forces creating confrontation
between the two Turkic states had partially achieved it. Of course, this topic is the most common topic
discussed today. However, the writer made a national position in this work and reflected in the artistic sense
that the writing of an insulting letter to Sultan on behalf of the Shah without his knowledge was done by
Turkish enemies. Aziza Jafarzade promoted bravely the idea of the Union of Turkic states in the Soviet
period, explained the Turkic essence of the Safavid state and felt the need to write a work on this subject as a
vivid example of our statehood.
