About the “Afshar” and “Abu-Ata” mugams

Abstract

The article contains thoughts and considerations about “Afshar” and “Abu-Ata”, which are small
branches in the Azerbaijani mugham repertoire, but are complete mughams. It is noted that their basic elements actually have a more different, subtle and complex structure than has been thought until now. Suggestions and remarks about the restoration and performance of these mughams also constitute one of the main motives of the article.
