Mahmud Kashgari (1008-1105), who lived in the XI-XII centuries, is famous in the scientific
world for his work "Divani lughat-it-Turk". He finished writing this work, which is considered the first dictionary of Turkic languages, in 1074. The work is not only a dictionary but also allows to learn the differences between language and dialect, areas of distribution, lifestyle, history, mythology, folklore, and culture
of Turkic tribes. M. Kashgari's greatest service to the Turks is that he demonstrates their existence against the
background of examples of Turkic communities that lived about a thousand years ago. Although M. Kashgari prepared the dictionary in the style of Arabic grammar, his goal was to teach Turkic language to Muslims, mainly Arabs. M. Kashgari was a prince belonging to the Karakhanli dynasty. He is the sixth descendant of Bughra Khan. According to M. Kashgari, God made the Turks superior, made the khagans out of
them, ruled them over the earth, and gave them the values of beauty and bravery. Whoever works alongside
the Turks, loves and respects the Turks, God makes him meet his desire. "Divani lughat-it-Turk" ("Dictionary of Turkic Languages"), written in Arabic by Mahmud Kashgari in the XI century, covers the Turkic language, Turkic culture, Turkic folklore, Turkic traditions, Turkic ethnography, Turkic national-spiritual values, geography, history, economy, served to spread the Turkic psychology, social relations and, finally, the
national identity of the Turk among the Arabs and promote the Turk.
