Abstract

In the article is studied the novel “The Black Book” by Orhan Pamuk, one of the well-known novelists of modern Turkey in the world, its relation with various texts written before it and how they are located in the combination of the texts. Orhan Pamuk has successfully used the technique of deconstructing texts and adding them to a new text, presenting them in a plot in the novel “The Black Book”. The Eastern and Western sources have been presented to readers in a text form in the novel “The Black Book” in order to explain the realities of Turkey in 1980s. In the article symbolic aspects of the novel “The Black Book”, identity search that is characteristic feature of the period and the connection with different texts are researched.
