The role of national leader Heydar Aliyev in destiny and creativity of Elmira Shahtakhtinskaya

Abstract

The article touches the role of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in destiny and creativity of Azerbaijani artist Elmira Shahtakhtinskaya. He paid great attention to cultural creativity and personal communication with figures of literature, art, theater and cinema during all the years of his reign, participated in congresses of creative unions, concerts and performances and even encouraged the young team of KVN. Among many artists, Mr. President always mentioned the People's Artist of Azerbaijan, Elmira Shahtakhtinskaya. In the 1970s, he highly appreciated the Tabriz miniatures of the artist and appreciated his meaningful and patriotic speeches at the congresses of artists.

After the passing away of the artist, President Heydar Aliyev ordered to bury her in the 2nd Alley of Honor and publish a monograph dedicated to her work. The book became the first in a series of publications about Azerbaijani artists in independent Azerbaijan.
