Abstract

At present, it is an undeniable fact that humanity is developing by expanding the interaction of different
countries, peoples and cultures. This process covers various spheres of social life in all countries of the world. This is
expressed in the rapid growth of cultural exchange and relations between government institutions, social groups,
social movements and individuals of different countries and cultures. These make the issue of cultural identity and
cultural differences particularly relevant. When bearers of different cultures get married, they carry their traditions
and norms of behavior to the family. From this point of view, it is important to examine the concepts of “marriage”,
“family” in different nations and the ways in which these concepts are realized in language.
The article talks about the concept of marriage in French, and the ways in which this concept is realized in idioms.
