Abstract

The article is devoted to one of the actual problems of grammar. In linguistics, verbs have always
attracted the attention of linguists as a lexical-semantic and grammatically rich part of speech. Although
numerous studies have been conducted on the verb, attention to this field has not decreased until now. Verbs
that change according to person have different forms according to the modal relation to the expressed action.
These different forms are called forms of the verb. The images of the verb indicate the attitude of the doer
(subject) to the work done. The forms of the verb are arranged in a certain order. This can be expressed in the
form of a formula: forms of the verb = root or initial form of the verb + signs of forms (suffix) + personal suffixes.
Verbs are divided into two forms in terms of whether they change according to time, person and quantity:
finite forms, non-finite forms. The finite forms of the verb vary according to person, tense, and number.
Non-finite forms are forms that do not change over time in terms of person and number. Finite forms of the
verb include command, news, wish, imperative, need, condition, continue, ability, and question forms.
Infinitives, participle and gerund belong to the infinitive forms of the verb.
