Abstract

The article is devoted to some onomastic stylistic features of oral literature in the language of
cinema. It is reported that the classical literature of Azerbaijan is very rich in onomastic units. The area that
studies onomastic units in this direction is called poetic onomastics. Poetic onomastics – the stylistics of
onomastics – is one of the newest and still little-studied areas of linguistics. These directions are described in
detail in the article.
The article talks about two directions of onomastic units: onomastic units in oral literature; and onomastic
units in written literature.
The study notes that, speaking about the stylistic layers of vocabulary, it is very important to pay attention to
emotional nuances, artistry, expressiveness, figurativeness, national coloring of a literary text and other
issues, as well as to analyze them linguistically.
The study reports that Azerbaijani folklore has rich onomastic features. These features are clearly reflected in
feature and documentary TV films.
