Bilingual dictionaries created in the Middle Ages are of great importance in studying the history of
Azerbaijani Turkic literary language, in terms of studying word creativity, which is one of the most
important areas of language enrichment. One of such classic dictionaries is the Persian-Turkish dictionary
called “Sihahul-ajamiyya” by Hindusah Nakhchivani, a prominent Azerbaijani scientist and lexicographer
who lived in the XIII-XIV centuries. Completed vocabulary at the end of the XIII century is a valuable
resource in studying ways to enrich the written literary language. The dictionary contains interesting
examples of both morphological and syntactic methods of word creation. Among the lexical units of this
type, the words with archaic character are particularly remarkable. In the article, their analysis was
specifically investigated.
