Abstract

Environmental or ecological literacy is the ability to understand the natural systems that make life
on Earth possible. Journalism, particularly climate journalism (environmental or ecojournalism), plays an
invaluable role in accurately conveying these natural systems to individuals and societies. This is because
journalism has the power to drive significant social, economic, and political changes. A climate-literate
person understands the key aspects of the Earth's system and can distinguish reliable sources from unreliable
or fake ones. By integrating ecological literacy into education systems, it is possible to raise an informed and
committed generation on Earth, thereby ensuring a sustainable future.
