The works by H.Javid and A.Hamid, prominent representatives of romanticism, are rich in a
number of epic-national motifs. One of them is the father-son conflict, which shows itself as a continuous
line in the works of both masters. The study of the plots reflecting that motif shows that although H.Javid
and A.Hamid, who use the father-son conflict model in their works, create different artistic situations, there
are also common signs that unite them. Investigating the semantic depth of those signs shows that the father
son conflict is related to the deep layers of Turkic artistic culture. This motif, which shows itself as a
continuous line in epics such as “Kitabi-Dede Gorgud” and “Koroglu”, is related to the ancient ritual
mythological meetings. This motif can be found in the works such as “Sayavush” by H.Javid, “Patience
perseverance” and “Adventure-love” by A.Hamid. The research shows that the complex Oedipus is the
psychoanalytic source of the father-son conflict, which has found its embodiment in the mentioned works.
