Abstract

The article examines one of the aspects of Russian-Azerbaijani literary relations: the study,
perception and evaluation of Russian literature in Azerbaijani literary criticism in the second half of the XX and
the beginning of the XXI centuries. Russian literature of this period is characterized by its irregularity, a
number of socio-political changes and various artistic and aesthetic tendencies associated with it. Azerbaijani
literary criticism paid great attention to each of these periods and still continues to do so.
Modern Azerbaijani researchers conducted their scientific searches in the study of Russian literature in various
directions during the period under study. In most cases, they created a monograph or defended dissertations
devoted to the work of one author as a whole or to certain periods and aspects of his work. Along with this,
many articles and reviews devoted to examples of Russian literature have been published. The researchers
focused on the analysis of the works of the authors, changes in the subject and problematics, the emergence of
new methods and approaches, new requirements for literature and correlated them with their own literature.
