Artistic reflection of genocide of Azerbaijanis in poetry in the early 20th century

Abstract

In the article is studied the artistic reflection of genocide of Azerbaijanis in poetry in the early 20th
century. The formation of national literature and the promotion of the theme of genocide in poetry is
considered. The information about writers who wrote poetic examples about the genocides of the period is
provided. Detailed information is given about our intellectuals who conducted research on this subject, not
only in that period but also in the following period.
In this article is dealt with the development of poetry and establishment of a literary school by its
representatives in the early 20th century. During the years of existence of the Azerbaijan Democratic
Republic, the optimistic belief in the future and activity was a leading in ideological essence of the poetry of
that period and social and artistic idea.
In general, it is stated that the subject of “genocide” has always been one of the prominent aspects of our
literature.
