A large part of the autograph manuscripts of Suleyman Sani Akhundov, an enlightened writer and
public figure, one of the representatives of the Azerbaijani enlightened-realist prose, is preserved in the
Institute of Manuscripts named after Muhammad Fuzuli of ANAS. Rich fund materials of several
representatives of the Karabakh literary environment, mainly Shusha, the cultural center of Azerbaijan,
including N.Vazirov, A.Hagverdiyev, M.R.Fana, F.Kocharli, Y.V.Chamanzaminli, G.Sheyda, Z.Hajibeyov,
U.Hajibeyli, are stored here. Suleyman Sani Akhundov's personal archive consisting of 205 storage units is
preserved in fund No. 10. The starting date of the documents can be attributed to 1894, and the last date to
1937. Unfortunately, there is no information about who and what date the archive was included in the
Republican Manuscripts Fund. The materials in the fund are grouped under the headings of S.S.Akhundov's
manuscripts (plays, stories, articles, biography and memories), letters to S.S.Akhundov, biographical
documents, descriptive documents, materials included in the fund and prints. The description of the archive of
the prominent intellectual S.S.Akhundov was processed and published in 1962 by professor J.Nagiyeva [11].
In the article, some of the autograph works preserved in S.S. Akhundov's archive were compared with the
editions printed in our time, and some conclusions were reached. The research included the stories “Dream” (“Yukhu”), “Kovkabi Hurriyat” (two copies), “Two Friends, Two Enemies” (“Iki dost, iki dushman”) (two
copies) preserved under different storage units in the writer's archive.
