Abstract

Polysemy is when a word has several meanings at the same time. Beings in human thinking are generalized, as a result of which several concepts are expressed in one word in the language. Ambiguity is related to intra-linguistic and extra-linguistic factors. The reason for this is that ambiguity is related to thinking, logic and language. Objects and events in the world that are similar or have the same sign are called by a common name. Meaning expansion, narrowing of meaning, transfer of meaning, and euphemisms have an exceptional role in the emergence, formation and formation of a polysemous word depending on the similarity of things and events. In the language, the true meaning of the words first emerges. The son of man first named the events and things he saw in real life, then metaphorical words and polysemy appeared.

Factors determining the emergence and development of polysemy are shown in the article.
