Lines from the portrait of Abdulla Shaig, prominent classic and enlightened pedagogue in Azerbaijani literature of 20th century (To the 140th anniversary of A.Shaig (1881-1958)

Abstract

The presented article is devoted to the life and creativity of one of the prominent classics
of Azerbaijani literature, Abdulla Mustafa oglu Talibzade (Shaig).
The author clarifies to A.Shaig’s creative issues related to Azerbaijan and emphasized his interest in
life, welfare, culture and literature as the enlightener, pedagogue, writer, poet, playwright, critic,
literary critic and translator. In the article is provided details information about the great and
distinctive role of A.Shaig’s creativity and Shaig’s art in the emergence, development of The great generation of Azerbaijani intellectuals have benefited from the school of A.Shaig. It is
known that A.Shaig in addition to writer was critic and literary critic. He has articles about
M.F.Akhundov, H.Javid and the history of our literature written at a professional level. He is the
author of literature textbooks and the book of literature theory.
All this proves ones again that Abdulla Shaig has a special role in the history of Azerbaijani
literature of the 20th century.
