The image of Fizuli in the creative quest of carpet artists

Abstract

The article is devoted to the consideration of carpet works of professional carpet artists of
Azerbaijan devoted to the theme of Fizuli, his image and poetry. It should be noted that during the
last decades a pleiad of artists whose carpet works have brought a fresh stream and creative
originality to the development of carpet art of Azerbaijan has been formed and creatively grown.
The source for their creative search were traditional artistic methods, subjects embodied in classical
carpets, which are works of art of world scale. Historically, along with magnificent ornamental
carpets, plot and thematic carpets were inherent to carpet weaving in Azerbaijan. Historically, along
with magnificent ornamental carpets, carpet weaving in Azerbaijan was also characterized by
subject-themed carpets. The art of creating subject-themed carpets has a rich past in Azerbaijan.
And the main property of these carpets was the harmonious unity of the ornamental and pictorial parts. In modern subject carpets there is a creative development of the artistic heritage of the past
from a modern perspective.
