Image of Fuzuli in monumental sculpture

Abstract

The article deals with the stages of formation of Fuzuli's artistic image in the
monumental sculpture of Azerbaijan. The iconography and composition of Fizuli monuments
created by T. Mammadov and O.Eldarov, M.Mirgasimov, F.Abdurahmanov, S.Suleymanova,
F.Salayev, and G.Sujeddinov are analysed. Attention is paid to two Fuzuli monuments erected in
Turkey. The main features of anthropology, physique, gestures, and attributes that formed the
iconographic type of Fuzuli in monumental sculpture are determined. The solution of Fuzuli's
artistic image is compared with the iconography of the sculptural monuments of Nizami and
Nasimi.
