Language and style features of the stories of Sabahaddin Ali

Sabahaddin Ali, one of the prominent writers of the Republic of Turkey, is known to the
world of literature for his journalistic works, novels, short stories and poems. His stories have been
studied many times by Azerbaijani, Russian and Turkish writers, psychological issues such as fear and loneliness, nature and man, gestalt have been explained in the writer's works, but language and
stylistic features have not been investigated.
One of the interesting stylistic features of Sabahaddin Ali's stories is that he puts forward the issue
of conscience and soul, includes psychological scenes, calls the people to fight for their freedom,
attitude to folk music and folklore, women's theme and fight for love.
In the stories, the processing of opposite sentences, antithesis, and morphological pleonasm is
noteworthy. Nicknames given to personal names and their purpose are explained here. Toponyms
are used with certain stylistic purposes. One of the characteristics of Sabahaddin Ali's stories is the
presence of nominal sentences, repetitions, metaphors, various types of conjunctions, the use of
sentences starting with neither, nor, sometimes, yet but, and conjunctions, abundance of the
phraseologisms, words of the same gender, sentences ending with a three-point punctuation and the
manifestation of sentences with parcellation. Unlike his novels, the writer, who estimates realism
more in his stories, often emphasizes extraordinary forces, the human spirit, and the issue of
spirituality. The writer, who is very fond of folk creativity and folklore, gives subtextual meanings
in his stories written in the style of fairy tales, and through allegorical images, the author reveals his
purpose, and intention. Due to the quotations from philosophers in the stories, it is revealed how
much the writer has a great worldview.
