The work “Khosrov and Shirin” by Nizami Ganjavi in the translation of Fakhraddin Yaqub ibn Mahammad Fakhri

(On the basis of comparative analysis)

Abstract

The Turkish translation of the poem “Khosrov and Shirin” by Nizami in 1367 by Fakhraddin Yagub Muhammad Fakhri was related to the aesthetic demand of that period and was created as a result of the wish of community, who wanted to read the works by Nizami in their native language. He gave a special coloring to the content by referring to historical resources related to content and Ferdowsi's works. In the article is dealt with the problem of the translation of that period and similarities and differences between the translation and the original.

This work by Fakhri that has a great value as one of the first Turkish translations, played a significant role in the wide spreading of the poem “Khosrov and Shirin” among Turkish peoples.
