In enlightened-realist literature multi-genre is considered as one of the main features.
Narrative, one of the examples of this genre, has a special place in the presentation and promotion
of enlightened-realist ideas. At the beginning of the 20th century the narratives written by Abdulla
Shaig and Sultan Majid Ganizade allow us to talk about and study enlightened-realist examples of
this genre. In the narrative “Khasay” that was written with the dominance of enlightened-realist
prose, the most important problems of the period were studied and mainly the positive role of
education, school, science and teacher (enlightened character) in human development was
emphasized. The story “Fear of God” has a special place in the author's creativity, and it is valuable,
because the use of events happened in the background of the life of the working class and its
representative described in this work was a new aspect of his creativity.
