Children's literature is an important and significant part of our artistic treasure. The end of
the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century are the enlightenment-realist stage of
Azerbaijani children's literature. At that stage, the range of topics and ideas of our children's
literature is multifaceted. One of these directions is the subject of moral perfection. Our children's writers (Seyid Azim Shirvani, Rashid bey Afandizade, Abdulla Shaig, Abbas Sahhat, Abdurrahman
Dai, Alisattar Ibrahimov, Mir Seyfaddin Seyidov-Shirvani, Sultan Majid Ganizade, Mirza Alasgar
Novras and oth.) have written interesting works on the subject. At the same time, these works are,
in essence, examples of enlightenment-realist art. Our progressive-minded poets and writers
focused on the depiction, glorification and promotion of colorful spiritual and moral beauties in
children's works. Of course, since these beauties are diverse, the examples of word art written on
the subject also had a variety of content and ideas. Among the many works with the same theme,
content and high purpose, the artistic examples embodying the idea of spiritual and moral perfection
occupied an important place. The article discusses prose works written on the topic of spiritual and
moral improvement, their features of ideological content, and the world of images. We have tried to
focus and analyze prose works that are important in terms of content. We have tried to clarify the
artistic value of the works and their place in children's literature. We have made as many
generalizations as possible during the analysis.
