Abstract

The name of Konstantin Simonov (1915-1979), the winner of the Lenin and State Prizes, Hero of Socialist Labor, an outstanding poet, a prose writer, a publicist and a public figure is well known to readers. Simonov’s ashes, who was a war participant from the very first to the last day and literally came out of the fire, according to his will, were scattered on the former battlefield 6 km from the Mogilev highway. In his works, he skillfully created images of the Soviet soldier and general, gave a vivid image of real and unforgettable scenes of the war. His wartime lyrics are especially famous. His poems “Do you remember, Alyosha, the roads of the Smolensk region”, “Wait for me and I will return”, “Kill him” and others can be a vivid example of this.
