Abstract

In the article is dealt with the aesthetic principles of Azerbaijani miniature. The transformation of the Azerbaijani miniature with an ancient history and rich artistic traditions into the leading means of expression of its period and this was due to the perceived universality of artistic value in his aesthetic capacity. Miniature style was applied in monumental coloration and manuscripts and had an attractive and impressive overall capacity at the beginning of the Middle Ages; and gradually began to act as the main means of expressiveness in various areas of fine and decorative and applied arts. In the Middle Ages the application of miniature style in monumental dyeing and ceramics, the art of fabric and carpet, and finally in book graphics (preparation of manuscripts) presented the uniqueness to Azerbaijani art and became “recognition badge” of national fine and decorative-applied arts. During the 19th – 20th centuries, famous European painters who introduced themselves with modern spirited trends and styles addressed to miniature traditions; and undoubtedly, this can be attributed to the fact that the means of expression have new and unprecedented artistic principles.
