Abstract

The article deals with the history of holding fine art exhibitions by researchers of the Azerbaijan NAS. The 20th anniversary exhibition, which was held in June 2023, is emphasized in more detail. It is mentioned that works almost in all genres of painting and graphics – portrait, still life, landscape, multi-figure composition and even paintings in the battle genre were exhibited at the exhibitions. The audience was also presented works related to some types of decorative-applied art and modern art directions such as installation, computer graphics and collage. The thematic content of the exhibitions was also very diverse. The analysis of almost 40 participants’ works of the exhibitions shows that the descriptive language of works authored by researchers has its own specific characteristics. The works of scientists-artists also differ in terms of creative typology. All of them belong to the harmonic or rational type of creativity. This reflects the influence of scientific thinking on artistic thinking.
