Abstract

One of the distinguishing features of each nation is that it has rich national traditions and high moral values. Custom lexicon is a very important layer in the language. Language units of this type are the research subject of both linguistics and ethnography. Since traditions are mostly preserved in regions, these types of language units are mainly reflected in regional dialects. Dialectisms related to customs are divided into two large groups: those related to wedding customs, and those related to mourning customs. The article mainly analyzed dialectics related to wedding traditions and child naming ceremonies.

In the article, dialectisms related to traditions used in Azerbaijani artistic prose during the period of independence were discussed.
