Abstract

The article talks about the poems written by Mahammad Hadi, one of the founders and leaders of 20th century Azerbaijani romanticism, about Iran and South Azerbaijan. It is noted that in his poetry, which pays particular attention to education and culture, progress, independence, women's freedom, exposure of imperialism, etc., Iran and South Azerbaijan are one of the topics that have a special place. In many of his poems written during the Mashruta revolution in Iran and in the following years, M.Hadi commented directly or indirectly on the issues that happened in Iran and South Azerbaijan. In some of his poems on this topic, he compared Iran's historical past with its current sad situation and called on Iranians to learn from history, while in some of his poems, he wanted to mobilize Iranians, especially South Azerbaijanis, to gain their freedom by commenting on the events that took place in Iran. The author applauded the revolution headed by Sattarkhan and its heroes and did not hesitate to expose the groups, including the monarchist royal regime in Iran, that were an obstacle to the freedom movement, especially the clergy. In his works of this kind, the poet came to the conclusion that freedom and independence should not be wished for, but one should fight to win it by giving resources, blood and life.
